You place a lid without the ring on the top of the jar. Then place the plastic jar top, narrow- or wide-mouth depending on the jar being sealed. Then connect the hose for the jar top and the Tilla food matching orifice making sure the switch is turned to the jar symbol. Lastly plug in the unit and let it run for a minute. Unplug the machine and remove hose and plastic jar top. The lid should have its center down and the jar has been sealed.
