Sam's Mom in her Kitchen

This shows the Yu family kitchen. You can see the bottled gas bottles that the mother uses for cooking. A typically Chinese kitchen but somewhat larger than many. Remember this family sits in the upper-middle class of Chinese society. The home, quite large by Chinese standards, had very nice and comfortable furniture. This family had purchased a very nice home in the city of Huoshan. We visited it while it was still being built. The new home cost about 105,000 Yuan ($12,700 US). This gets you the shell and you hire another contractor to finish off the inside. This can be about 40,000 yuan ($4,800 US).
