Making Cherry Cobbler from Scratch

1. Mash Cherries

We use a potato masher to mash the cherries. We mash only enough to reduce the airspace to get an accurate measurement. We need 3 cups of cherries. Our cherries came from a farmer who sold them washed, pitted and ready to go.
