Mix up the Wet Stuff

Here we begin the job of mixing up the ingredients. Using the back of a large tablespoon we mix up all the ingredients. You won't be able to completely mix all of the lumps of the shortening but get the biggest lumps mixed in. The smaller lumps of shortening will get better spread out and mixed when we put in the first half of the flour.
