Measuring out the Dry Ingredients

We measure out the flour into a flour sifter. This recipe calls for 4 1/2 cups flour. We put 3 cups flour in the sifter along with 4 teaspoons baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, 1 teaspoon ground cloves and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
