Mix the Batter

In the electric mixer we have the shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla. It's time to mix it up. We set the mixer on low to start. Bernice uses a plastic scraper to scrape the sides and the bottom into the mixer blades to do a good job of mixing. As it progresses she increases the speed until the batter is very creamy and well mixed. Turn off the mixer to wait for the next mixing job.
