In this photo sent back home to his family in Seattle Washington, Mark types a note on the back. "This photo taken in my office in 1944 in New Guinea. Note the tropical flowers placed on my desk daily by my orderly who likes to care for them and to arrange them. He now serves in the Quartermasters Corps.
