28. We Move to Fairview Avenue in 1960

In 1960 the family moved to the Hayward hills up on Fairview Avenue above the California State University at Hayward. The house on Broadmore we sold for $18,000 and bought this one for $25,000. It was later sold in 1980 for $250,000. It had not been very well taken care of and we had to do a lot of fixing and landscaping. We had a 1956 Chevy. It had a beautiful view of the entire Bay Area. The boys loved being out in the country. Chet was 3 and Landon was 1. Chet and Paul planted more than 100 trees on the property that included 2 acres. This shows the house before we planted anything.
