My Grampa James A. Noll

108. My Grampa James A. Noll

My Grandfather had a great influence in my life and attitude towards things. I wanted to thank him in a way to show my appreciation. As a small boy you don't say some things but take them for granted. He so much appreciated my visit. We spent an hour helping him walk to the store. He hadn't been out for some time. He walked slow and needed some help. But I could see in his eyes his happiness at being outside. Our trip was very definitely on the cheap. We slept in the car and ate baloney sandwiches. He gave us $20. I told him he didn't need to do that and he replied, "I don't get to spend money much these days. Let me do this."
