Paul Noll Growing Up 121. Student at Pasadena City College in 1952 In 1952, I was discharged from the US Army after two years in Korea. I wanted to go to college and during the summer I took classes at Pasadena City College. I took two math courses to brush up on math and to improve my study habits. I supported myself by repairing TV sets. When I applied for a telephone the telephone number I got was a number that the TV and Radio Hospital (A big repair shop in Pasadena) had and then changed to a better number. For 20 years they had put a sticker on radios and TV sets to call this number for service. Ten minutes after the phone was installed it began to ring with people wanting repair services so I was in business, albeit with any official notice to any authorities. After Pasadena CC I took the entrance exam to the University of California and passed. ⇦ Back to Page 120 On to Page 122 ⇨Return to Paul Growing Up - Page 16 |
