20. We Install a Heat Pump When we bought the property the heat had been heated by a diesel furnace. That could have been good when they built the home and diesel costs 9 cents a gallon, but not in this day of 1980. We changed it out to a heat pump. It can be seen just outside my office. It provided both heat and cooling. In a later year when the temperature reached 116 and a number of the elderly aunts spent time with us in the air-conditioned house. We gladly welcomed them to spend time with us.
