Bare footed, the two of us appear to be picking corn and shucking it for our dinner. We spent a lot of time in Grampa's garden picking fruits and vegetables. Town was a long ways away. We seldom went into town for groceries. At intervals we went to Gig Harbor to Grampa's frozen-food locker to get some meat to eat. On the farm we had no electricity and thus no refrigeration. Grampa had chickens and we ate their eggs.
