Using the radio

Paul Noll Learns to Fly at Hayward, California

16. Using the radio

Using the radio requires some hours of training. Paul bought a radio with the aircraft band frequencies. He then spent hours listening to the radio chatter. This give you practice in following one plane and understanding the calls normally made and the answers. That way he didn't have to spend air time to get acquainted with the radio chatter.
