Dollar stores were quite in abundance in the old days. Six to eight stores featured this concept. Most are long gone, Newberrys, Woolworth, Ben Franklin, Kress, S.S. Kresge, Sprouse - Reitz, and National are some of these stores. They also called themselves 5 and 10 cent stores.
