Storks on a Roof A Test of Communication and Perception - Test 5
An Ad Seen in the San Francisco Chronicle.

There are 10 storks on a roof. A hunter shoots one.
  1. Do you perceive a difference between question 1 and 2?

Answers given to Question 3 by students.

  1. About half felt it was two different questions.
  2. About half did not see any difference.

The seminar taught was to computer programmers. They tend to be far more precise in giving answers to questions. Trainers spend time training them to be precise. We try to get them to ask questions to set parameters, definitions and unknown factors. Computers can respond with yes and no questions. To a computer half dead is ridiculous. You either are dead or not dead, no halfway. Likewise to a computer you can't be a little bit pregnant, you either are or you aren't.
