Between 1914 and 1958, he made a total of 70 features, both silent and sound films. He is acknowledged as a founding father of the cinema of the United States. His last and most famous film was The Ten Commandments. The Cord Corporation was founded and run by E. L. Cord as a holding company for his many transportation interests, including Auburn.
