Taiwan Andromeda

Flowers Growing at Our Home

Taiwan Andromeda

Pieris taiwanensis Upright, dense, tiered growth to 9-10 foot. Mature leaves are glossy dark green, 3 inch long, new growth bronzy pink to red. Drooping clusters of flower buds form in autumn and are attractive even before opening to white, flowers in February to May. We have two of these in the back yard. Similar to the Japanese Andromeda but with somewhat larger, more erect flower clusters. Have unusually heavy pure white blooms. Flowers are very much like lily-of-the-Valley blooms.
