Flowers Growing at Our Home Bull Thistle or Common Thistle Cirsium vulgare Thistles are considered weeds by most folks and includes us as well. Common thistle or Bull Thistle is a stout plant that grows 2 to 3 feet tall and has spiny irregularly lobed leaves. The purple heads are very conspicuous. Native of Europe.
