Flowers Growing at Our Home Yarrow Achillea millefolium Yarrow is a rather attractive perennial herb that spreads by short rhizomes. The plants vary considerably in height and extent of branching, but are usually 1 to 2 feet tall. The narrow, fern-like leaves are 2 to 5 inches long and are finely divided. The small heads resemble single flowers, and bloom densely in flat-topped clusters. The plants are strongly aromatic, rather like sage. It is not aggressive, however, and seldom becomes a serious weed. Ours grow along our 1/2 mile-long driveway. ⇦ Back to Previous Flower On to Next Flower ⇨Hi-Res Pic Flower (152K) |
