Douglas Fir

Trees Growing at Our Pleasant Hill Oregon Home

Douglas Fir in 2010

Pseudotsuga menziesii - Grows to 70-250 ft. in forests. We have hundreds of mature Douglas Firs in the 80-120 ft. size. Young seedlings are to be found under the mature trees. We have transplanted dozens of these to open areas. The birds love the seeds. It is the main lumber tree for the U.S and the source of much of Oregon's commerce. This photo shows the tree in 2010. It is now about 23 foot tall.
