Ponderosa Pine - Western Yellow Pine in 2010

Pinus ponderosas Native to western N. America from British Columbia south to Mexico, and variable in length of needles and size of cones throughout its range. Height may be more than 200 feet in the wild. We have three small ones as gifts from our friend Linda from her cabin (About 10 inches high). By 2006 it had grown to about 4 feet. Bernice by contrast stands 5 foot 2 inches. In 2007 it has topped 7 feet. In 2010 it exceeds 11 feet.
