Chet Leland Noll's Fourth Birthday

As Chet improved in the problem of his health and could eat different foods. Mom finally had a reprieve from her latrine duty as foods stopped making him so sick. Chet was most cooperative during those difficult days and never complained. Dad used to ask him each morning what kind of cereal he wanted today. Oats, wheat, barley, corn, or buckwheat, what kind do you want for breakfast today? Chet would chose one and Dad would fix his rice cereal with a different name. Dad would also fix some cookies made from rice cereal, lamb, applesauce, and predigested milk. We tried them. They were not our favorites but Chet ate them with gusto.
