Chet Leland Noll's Ninth Birthday

Chet used his artistic talent to enter the Hayward Art Festival. It was a juried art show and open to professional artists not just for kids. It was accepted and won an "Honorable Mention" ribbon. We were thrilled for him. As I remember it, the first place prize went to some idiot who entered a green painted toilet seat. Chet spent many hours in the doctor's office during his earlier illnesses and Mom used this time to have him practice his drawing ability. He would spend the time drawing with crayons and put the time to good use.
