Landon could read well now and here he and brother Chet examine the birthday card. Landon was always an avid reader. His Mom and dad would do a lot of reading to him and he got a love for the written word. Later he would go to the Hayward library and check out a dozen books at a time. Books about astronomy, physics, math and mechanical things were a treasure to him.
