1. Hatfield Marine Science Center

The Hatfield Marine Science Center, Newport, Oregon Coast is in Newport, Oregon on the south side of the river east of the bridge. Named after Oregon Senator Mark Hatfield, it is run by Oregon State University. There are many outstanding exhibits and hands on events for young and old alike. A tide pool is available for children to touch and see creatures up close. This is a submersible sub they use in their research. It is well worth a few hours of your time. The center does a great deal of research as well as exhibits for the public. One of our Chinese students spent a long time here doing research.
