Wildflowers Found in Oregon Seaside Bird's-Foot Trefoil Lotus formosissimus - Perennial, spreading to ascending by rhizomes/stolons, blooms in spring. Evergreen, adaptable to soil preference. A lovely groundcover for moist areas. Small pea-like flowers are yellow and purple. Flower: calyx 5-6 mm; corolla 10-16 mm, banner yellow, wings pink-purple, fading white, claws exserted from calyx tube. Natural Habitat: In water or springy areas, shores, meadows, roadside ditches below 2000'.
