Wildflowers Found in Oregon Leafy Bluebells (Trumpet Lungwort) Mertensia longiflora - Uncommon, early spring, perennial, 2-8 in. Erect, 1-2 succulent stems. Basal leaves usually missing; stem leaves sessile, few, broadly egg-shaped, 1-4 times as long as they are broad, hairless or with few hairs, with obscure side veins. Flowers in tight nodding cluster at top. Flower to 1 in., tubular, with open end spreading. Stems and flowers easily detach from plant when touched.
