Wildflowers Found in Oregon Western Boykinia (Coastal Boykinia) Boykinia occidentalis (Boykinia elata) - Common, all summer, perennial, 1-2 ft. Tufted plant, mostly basal leaves with reddish hairs often topped with glands. Basal leaves on long stalks, blades to 4 in. across, heart-shaped, lobed less than 1/3 of the way to the base; stem leaves becoming stalkless, smaller. Flowers small, white, in open clusters on reddish glandular stems. Grows in shaded areas, moist woods, banks of streams at sea level to mid elevations. Native.
