Crown Tipped Coral

Clavicorona pyxidata - Fungus: 3/4 - 2 3/8 in. wide 2-5 in high; Many-branched, usually in equal 3-sided groupings, with tips cup-shaped and crownlike; yellow, becoming dull ochre, tannish-white, or pink-tinged. Flesh whitish, tough. Taste usually peppery. Reported edible. Season: June to September. Found on dead wood, especially willow, poplar, and aspen.
