Big Deervetch

Lotus crassifolius - Common, all summer, perennial, 1-4 ft. Erect or sprawling. Sturdy stems, thick blue-green leaves with 9-15 oval leaflets. Flowers in a round head, 10-20, yellowish or white, blotched with dull reddish purple or pink. Grows in disturbed soils, moist mixed forests, at 1000 to 7000 ft. Native.
