Wartberry Fairybell (Rough Fruit Fairybells)

Disporum trachycarpum - Description: This beautiful woodland plant, with stems branched in a forked manner, has 1 or 2 small, creamy white, narrowly bell-shaped flowers hanging beneath the leaves at the ends of branches. Flower 3/8 to 5/8 inches long; style lack hairs. Fruit: round berry about 3/8" wide, at first yellow becoming red. Habitat: Wooded area, often near streams. Range is British Columbia to northeastern Oregon; east to eastern North Dakota; south through Rocky Mountain region to southern Arizona and western New Mexico. Native.
