Wildflowers Found in Oregon California Harebell (Slender Bluebell) Campanula prenanthoides - Native to slopes near coniferous forests, this little campanula is sweet but not super showy. Best enjoyed on close inspection where the soft blue bells with exserted pistil can be admired. A thrifty perennial useful in shady situations where it will tolerate dry conditions or root competition. Seems to thrive with some irrigation as well. Great for wall or slopes. 8-10 in. tall by 1ft. wide or so. Long stalks of delicate, blue flowers. Part shade, well-drained soil, low water. Can tolerate more sun in cooler climates. Hardy to 0 degrees F. Open woodlands of Oregon and California. On to Next WildflowerHi-Res Pic (101K) Back to Thumb Page 35 Return to Wildflower Alpha List - Page 6 |
