Silvery Lupine

Lupinus argenteus - Locally common, late spring-early summer, perennial, 4-16 in. Erect stems. Plant green, often silvery with dense short and longer silver hairs. Basal and stem leaves with 1/2-6 in. long petioles, palmately divided with 5-9 leaflets, each 1/2-2 in. long. Flower spike to 16 in. tall. Flowers on 1-4 in. stalk with blue, violet, or rarely white petals with white to yellow patch. Grows in forests, shrublands, at mid to high elevations.
