Calandrinia ciliata Locally common, late spring, annual, 1/2-7 in. Upright to spreading mat. Stems single or branched with alternate linear to oblong leaves with rounded tips, flat, thick to fleshy. Flowers single in leaf axils. Petals 5, brilliant rose-red or rarely white, may have hairs around edges, stamens 3-15. Grows in vernal-wet, loamy, sandy soils, coastal turf, disturbed and cultivated places, at low to mid elevations. Native
