Wildflowers Found in Oregon Leafy Mitrewort Mitella caulescens Locally common, midspring-midsummer, perennial, 6-12 in. Tuft of 1-2 1/2 in. nearly maple-shaped leaves with 3-7 sharp toothed lobes. The only mitrewort with a few leaves along flower stems. Flower stem 2-12 in. tall, flowers on short stalks, blooming from top to bottom. Flowers greenish, stamens alternating with petals. Petals linear, with 5-7 feathery lobes. Style unlobed. Grows in swampy soils to deep woods from coast to mid elevations. Native.
