Black Nightshade

Solanum nigrum - Locally common, late summer, annual or perennial, 6-16 in. Shrub-like, branching, with spreading hairs and some glands on surfaces. Leaves egg-shaped, entire or wavy with few uneven teeth. Flowers in small open clusters. Calyx short, bell-shaped, lobed. Flower white to pale blue, about 1/3 in. across. Fruit a small, black, round, tomato-like berry. Grows at very low elevations. Nonnative.
