Midget Phlox (Annual Phlox, Pretty Little Phlox)

Phlox gracilis - Common, all summer, annual, 2-8 in. Short stems spreading to erect, branching, glandular-hairy near top. Leaves lance-shaped, opposite on lower stems, alternate near top. Flowers on separate stalks in clusters at stem ends; tube yellowish, with bright pink or lavender notched lobes. Grows in moist or dry soils at all elevations. Native.
