Pumice Sandwort

Arenaria pumicola - Endemic, midsummer, perennial, 4-8 in. Stems upright from branched woody base. Leaves 1-2 in. long, upward-pointing, narrow, bearing straight hairs along edges, blunt-topped. Flower stems 3-8 in. long, hairless on lower sections, glands near top, with 2-6 pairs of leaves. Open clusters of few to many flowers, each carried on 1/3-1 in. stalk. Flowers small, white. Grows on granite or pumice sand. Endemic to southern Cascades, found at Crater Lake National Park.
