Wildflowers Found in Oregon American Speedwell Veronica americana - Common, all summer, perennial, 4-40 in. Ascending stems from creeping rhizomes, rooting at the joints. Leaves opposite, on short petioles, lance-shaped, to 2 in. long, saw-toothed to entire. Flowers violet-blue with dark lines, in long upright sprays at stem ends. Each flower to 1/3 in. across.
