Wildflowers Found in Oregon Pink Wintergreen (Heart-leaved Pyrola, Bog Wintergreen) Pyrola asarifolia - Common, all summer, perennial, 6-18 in. Tall, erect, reddish stem from basal cluster of leathery evergreen leaves. Leaves oval to round, with tapered bases on long petioles, shiny dark green with underside often purple. Flowers on spreading stalks on top 1/2 of stem. Petals form cup, pink to dark red, with protruding downward-curving style. Grows in bogs to dry evergreen or deciduous forests, meadows, from near coast to subalpine.
