Bird Stereotypes - Eagles - 6 - Page 1
Child-stealing, proud, noble
Eagles are often depicted in stories as creatures who like to attack humans and
especially children and then pick them up with their claws to feed them to
their own children. This is a myth, since eagles can only lift up to 4 pounds
and are more likely to attack other, smaller animals. In contrast, the giant
golden eagle Marahute in Disney's The Rescuers Down Under is a loyal,
protective friend of a boy named Cody after he saves her from a poacher.
