3. Interior of Chengdu Church

This is the Chinese Christian Church we attended in Chengdu in 1984-5 and in 1987-88. We took this picture in 1987. It was hard to find it because they had widened the street and the Church had been moved slightly. They loved the Lord here and sang with gusto. You needed to get to the Church 2 hours early. They practiced the hymns for an hour before Church but because it was so crowded they got there an hour before that to get a seat. On Easter and Christmas you needed a ticket to get into the courtyard. This Church is officially the "Three Self Movement Patriotic Church." There is another Church, which is a Catholic Church.
