4. The Foreigners Sing

This is the Chinese Christian Church we attended in Chengdu in 1984-5 and in 1987-88. We took this picture in 1987. The National Television Service wanted to televise the Christmas Church service in Chengdu in 1987. The Church asked the foreigners to sing some Christmas carols for the Broadcast. Bernice agreed to be the director and we had some practices. Here we are on the day of the broadcast on Christmas Evening. I am in the back because I was the tallest. Bernice is out in front directing this melodic ensemble. In those days there were not many foreigners in Chengdu. These are the ones that went to this Church.
