167. Neijiang, Sichuan - 3,702,847 Neijiang is a prefecture-level city in the Southeast of Sichuan Province, in southwest of China, with a population of about 4,200,000. It is located on the Tuo River and is a transportation and food-processing center. Its population is 3,702,847 at the 2010 census whom 1,254,424 in the built up area made of 2 urban districts (Shizhong and Dongxing). The first county-level administrative organization was set up here more than two thousand years ago in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was known as Han'an and Zhongjiang before the first emperor of the Sui Dynasty (581-618) changed its name to Neijiang. Shengshui Temple: one of the eight famous temples in Sichuan Province located in suburbs of Neijiang City, first built during 860-870 of the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
