6. Eating Out in China Dining on the Train Bernice and I often travel by train. They allow you to see a lot of China, they are cheap, and comfortable. The food aboard the trains vary considerably. Some people bring their own snacks. Some buy food from vendors that crowd around the trains at every stop. Some buy from shops that are in most all train stations. Some trains have a service where a person brings around rice and vegetable in a Styrofoam box. These are not too good. Sometimes when we are traveling with students we will have then have the dining car fix a banquet for us. The dining car people will buy what they need and we will go after the dining car shuts down. We also invite the dining crew to join us. On to Dinner with Chinese Family 7 ⇨Return to Noll Food Scenes Page 1 |
