21. Eating Out in China

Hot Potato Vendor

This young man sells baked sweet potatoes. On his handcart he has a clay stove heated by coal. He keeps an ample supply of sweet potatoes on hand and has some baking and some already baked. The price is very low, about 10-20 cents American. They are very hot and tasty. They are especially good on a freezing day. Hold one in your hand to keep warm while peeling and nibbling on it. We often have one after Church. We sometimes take one home to eat with butter.
