The Forbidden City

A Tower sits at each of the four corners of the walled compound of the Imperial Palace. They built these towers in 1420 (18th year of Ming Emperor Yung Lo's reign). Each has three tiers of eaves with 72 ridges. A glazed beast sits at each of the four corners of the roof, which has been topped by a gilded bottle-shaped knob Exquisitely structured, their beauty has been enhanced by being mirrored in the moat surrounding the Palace.
