7. Buddha's Toes

The city of Leshan (Low San) has a large statue of Buddha carved out of solid rock. It is several hundred feet high. We are with some of our students sitting on his toes. The trail down to the bottom is quite narrow and treacherous. In the US no one would be allowed to travel on such a trail. Bernice and I both use a cane to help stay alive on such a trail.
