23. The Nanjing Yangzi River Bridge in 1969

This Russians started this bridge and when they left they took all the plans. The Chinese were quite proud that they had completed it by themselves afterwards. The bridge was completed December 23, 1968 after it was abandoned by the Russians in 1960. The bridge is double decked with rail traffic on the lower deck. The upper deck is 6,500 meters long.
