Honey Wagon Service - 35

This peasant has gone into the honey-wagon service. He lives in the city of Chengdu, a city of about 8 million. The Chinese Academy of Sciences where we work has very large concrete pits where human sewage is stored. Often these men come to dip out the sewage into these carts where they transport it to the countryside where it is put on the fields for fertilizer. The streets have many of these deliverymen as they go about their necessary work.
